Rain is set to move into parts of Wales today, although it will stay very mild across much of the country.

According to the Met Office, Scotland and Northern Ireland will see cloudy skies with spells of rain throughout the day. That rain will gradually push into western parts of England and Wales during the afternoon.

Elsewhere, early fog will clear to leave a very mild day with some sunny spells.

Tonight, outbreaks of rain in the west will edge a little further east. However, some eastern and south eastern areas are expected to remain dry. Clearer spells are likely to develop in the north west later in the night. Temperatures will remain mild.

Thursday will begin brighter in eastern areas, but conditions will turn generally cloudy with further outbreaks of rain. In the west, the rain is expected to become heavier and more persistent later in the day. It will also turn brisk, although it will continue to feel mild.

Looking ahead to Friday through to Sunday, the weather is expected to stay unsettled. Many areas will see rain on Friday. Saturday will bring brighter spells with some showers, before cloud and rain return from the west on Sunday. It is likely to stay windy at times, particularly in western areas.
