Motorists are being urged to avoid Llantwit Major Road following a collision which has led to a full road closure.

South Wales Police confirmed that officers are at the scene and the road is currently closed in both directions between Sigingstone, at the Cowbridge turn off, and the Vale Business Park in Nash.

The update was issued around six hours ago, with the closure still in place at the time of writing.

Drivers are being advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes where possible, as delays are likely in the surrounding area while the incident is dealt with.

A map of the affected stretch of road has been shared by police to help motorists identify the closure.

There are no further details at this stage regarding the cause of the collision or whether anyone has been injured.

Motorists are thanked for their patience while emergency services remain at the scene.
