Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Pinehurst Rest Home, Porthcawl, on the south coast of Wales.

Pinehurst Rest Home is a boutique residential dementia care home that is registered for up to 11 residents. It occupies an attractive converted Victorian property in the coastal town of Porthcawl, within a short walk of the seafront and promenade. The home has earned an enviable reputation for delivering excellent quality care and maintaining strong ties within the local community.

The home was established in 1989 by Patricia Attwood and was passed to her daughter, Alexandra Crane, in 2004, who has decided to sell and retire from the business.

Following a confidential sales process with Oliver McCarthy at Christie & Co, and with funding sourced through Gary Boyce at Christie Finance, it has been sold to Mani Neelamegan and Dr Muthuvairavan, an experienced operator with two homes in South Wales.

Alexandra Crane, the former owner of Pinehurst Rest Home, comments, “I am incredibly proud to have followed in my mum’s footsteps and continued her legacy of compassion, respect, dedication, and commitment to every resident who has lived here. I am confident that the new owners are equally committed to ensuring the home continues to thrive, while preserving the small, homely environment that has always made Pinehurst special.”

Mani Neelamegan, the new owner of Pinehurst Residential Care Home, comments, “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Pinehurst Rest Home into our family of care homes. Pinehurst has a strong reputation within the Porthcawl community, and we are committed to building on the excellent foundations already in place. Our focus has always been on providing compassionate, person-centred care in a safe and homely environment, and we look forward to working closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure a smooth transition and continued high standards of care. Having successfully operated Manorleigh House and Fairleigh House, we are confident that our experience, values, and long-term vision will bring positive growth and stability to Pinehurst while maintaining its unique character.”

Oliver McCarthy, Director – Care at Christie & Co, comments, “Congratulations to Alex on her retirement from Pinehurst – her commitment and passion have been instrumental in shaping it into the highly respected home it is today, and I look forward to seeing how the new owners take the business forward and build on Pinehurst’s legacy of excellence.”

Gary Boyce, Director at Christie Finance, comments, “It has been a pleasure assisting Mani and his co-directors with the purchase of their third care home business. Pinehurst is an excellent fit for them, given its size and its location in Porthcawl, which strengthens their presence in South Wales. The funding we secured provides them with a solid foundation for this new care home and opens the door to further potential acquisitions in the future. We wish them all the very best.”

Pinehurst Rest Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
