    Man arrested after alleged attempted abduction in Cardiff

    A man has been arrested following what is being treated as an attempted abduction of an 18-year-old woman in Pontprennau area of Cardiff on Saturday, February 28.
    A local man, 33, was arrested within hours of the incident being reported and remains in police custody.
    The incident happened at around 6.30pm on the junction of Clos Nant Mwlan and Heol Pontprennau, after the 18-year-old victim got off a bus – she is believed to have been followed by somebody on foot.
    Detectives investigating the incident are trying to identify a woman motorist driving a black car who saw the incident and stopped to intervene – she is urged to make contact.
    Detective Inspector Laura Parsons, said: “Incidents such as this one are extremely rare and I would like to reassure people that we have arrested a suspect who is in police custody.
    ‘I would like to praise the woman who stopped her car to intervene. It’s really important that we identify who she is so she is urged to get in touch’
