Wales is set for a mixed start to the week as rain gradually pushes eastwards today, before drier and brighter conditions take hold.
According to the Met Office, western parts of Wales will wake up to a wet start, while eastern areas begin the day dry but rather cloudy. As the day goes on, the rain will slowly spread further east, with brighter skies following behind into the west during the afternoon. Winds are expected to ease, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 14°C.
This evening, the rain will soon clear away, making way for clear spells. A few showers are possible overnight, although most places are likely to stay dry. It will turn chilly where skies remain clear, with temperatures dropping to a minimum of 2°C.
Tuesday looks set to bring a more settled picture for many. It will be largely dry with sunny spells, although there is a chance that thicker cloud could produce the odd light shower at times. It will feel a little fresher, with highs of around 12°C.
Looking ahead to the rest of the week, Wednesday is expected to be a fine day with sunny spells. Thursday should remain mostly dry through the day, although rain may arrive later in the evening. That rain is then forecast to clear, leaving Friday dry and sunny once again.
After a damp start, it appears much of Wales can look forward to brighter and calmer conditions as the week progresses.
