    Melin Homes held a celebration event at its new Mountain View development in Crickhowell last week.

    Melin developed 22 new affordable homes at Mountain View in partnership with the Welsh Government and Powys Council. The £2.5 million development has been constructed by P & P Builders and was completed in November 2017. The development has 6 flats, 4 homes for purchase and 12 homes for rental.

    The event was attended by Kirsty Williams AM, Chris Davies MP, Cllr. John Morris and Chief Executive of Powys Council David Powell. The visitors were taken on a guided tour of the development by Melin’s Chief Executive Paula Kennedy and had a chance to meet some of the residents.

    Melin Chief Executive, Paula Kennedy said;

    “We are delighted to bring these much needed homes to Crickhowell. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality homes and services across Powys. It’s very much a partnership with the Housing team in Powys Council to identify the sites and bring these lovely homes into being. Residents have told us how happy they are with their new homes and we are hopeful we can potentially bring more homes to the site in the future.”

    Kirsty Williams AM, said; “It is nice to walk around such an impressive, new development. While the houses of course look great, the real value in them is the homes they provide to local families in areas where we desperately need more affordable homes. Melin are really changing lives and communities by bringing these homes to Crickhowell.”
