Wales is set for a mixed week of weather, starting with dry and bright conditions before turning more unsettled with rain, wind and even wintry showers in places.

According to the Met Office, Monday will begin on a positive note, with a dry start and some bright or sunny spells across much of the country. Cloud will gradually increase through the day, although it is expected to remain dry with light winds. Temperatures are forecast to reach highs of around 14°C.

Conditions will become cloudier overnight, with a strengthening southwesterly breeze developing. Despite the increased cloud cover, temperatures are expected to stay relatively mild, with lows of around 6°C and no risk of frost.

Tuesday will see a notable shift in conditions, with a more unsettled spell moving in. It is expected to be windy, particularly in coastal and hilly areas, with outbreaks of rain developing. These are likely to become heavier and more persistent as the day goes on, with temperatures peaking at around 13°C.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, Wednesday is set to turn brighter but colder, with blustery showers. In higher areas, particularly over the Welsh hills, these showers could turn wintry.

Thursday is expected to bring a brief return to drier and brighter conditions, although it will remain on the chilly side.

By Friday, wetter weather is forecast to return, with further spells of rain moving across Wales to round off the week.
