A major new retail opening has landed in the Welsh capital today, as JD Sports has officially opened the doors to its new Cardiff superstore.

Shoppers can now step inside the brand-new flagship, which spans around 31,936 square feet, making it one of the largest JD Sports locations in Wales. The retailer has relocated from its previous Queen Street site to a much larger unit on the lower level of the Grand Arcade at St David’s, close to Size and LEGO.

The long-awaited opening has been teased in recent weeks, with anticipation building around what is set to be one of the brand’s most significant stores in the city. Inside, customers will find a wide range of the latest activewear, iconic trainers and on-trend streetwear.

To celebrate the launch, there will be plenty happening across opening weekend. Visitors can expect a lively in-store atmosphere, with prizes up for grabs and a unique Stanley Cup engraving experience adding to the excitement.

The move represents a major investment in Cardiff’s retail scene, reinforcing its status as a key destination for leading high street and global brands.

With doors now open, shoppers are being encouraged to head down and experience the new space while the opening celebrations continue throughout the weekend.
