Overnight road closures are set to affect parts of South Wales this week, with drivers urged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.

Traffic Wales has confirmed a series of closures on key routes, including the A48 and A465, taking place over consecutive nights.

The A48 eastbound will be closed between Earlswood Roundabout and Britton Ferry Roundabout from 8pm on Wednesday, April 8 until 6am on Thursday, April 9.

Further disruption is expected on Thursday night, with the A465 westbound closed between Hardwick Roundabout and Glanbaiden Roundabout from 8pm on April 9 until 6am on Friday, April 10.

At the same time, the westbound route through Aberdulais, between Hardwick Roundabout and Glanbaiden Roundabout, will also be closed during the same overnight period.

Drivers are advised to follow diversion routes and check before travelling, particularly during overnight hours when the closures will be in place.

Traffic Wales has not confirmed the reason for the closures, but they are typically scheduled to allow for essential maintenance or improvement works to be carried out safely.

Motorists travelling through these areas are being urged to take extra care and plan alternative routes where necessary.
