Motorists are being warned to expect delays after a collision on the A4232 in Cardiff this afternoon.

South Wales Police confirmed officers are currently at the scene of the incident, with the road closed northbound between Culverhouse Cross and the M4 at Junction 33.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible while emergency services deal with the collision.

The closure is expected to cause congestion on surrounding roads, particularly during busy travel periods.

In a statement, South Wales Police said:

“We are at the scene of a collision on the A4232, Cardiff. The road is currently closed northbound between Culverhouse Cross and the M4 at junction 33. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area.”

There are currently no further details on the nature of the collision or whether anyone has been injured.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys in and around the west of Cardiff.
