Three people have been jailed after being sentenced for multiple drugs offences.

Gerwyn Hussey, 34 from Aberdare was sentenced to five years in prison following his conviction.

Amie Dare, 34 from Aberdare was sentenced to three years and six months in prison following her conviction.

Kirk Howells, 43 from Hirwaun was sentenced to four years in prison following his conviction.

The sentencing took place on Friday June 5 at Cardiff Crown Court where Hussey pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, Dare pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis and Howells, pleaded guilty to being in possession of cocaine and concerned in the supply of cocaine.

This follows a police investigation into an organised crime group working in the Aberdare area. In January this year Howells was found to be in possession of a phone that was sending messages offering wholesale amounts of class A drugs for sale.

Officers then went to his address and found the phone and arrested him. During the search of the property, they found various bags of white powder and scales as well as other drug paraphernalia.

Following a download of Howells phone officers identified that Hussey was involved with the supply of class A across the Cynon Valley. Hussey’s partner Dare was also identified as being a key member of the group through these messages.

Police Constable Cameron Allcock said “This group is yet another drug group who was discovered as part of our investigations into drug supply in Aberdare.

“Like so many others before them, there involvement in this illegal trade has resulted in them getting a lengthy prison sentence.”
