The attacks were over a four month period last year
A Rhyl man who attacked five strangers over a four-month period last year has been jailed.
24-year-old Colin Cambell of Rhyl, appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday June 16th, where he was jailed for seven and a half years.
Cambell had previously admitted assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, GBH with intent and two counts of assault. He was found guilty after trial of another charge of GBH.
The first attack happened in March 2025 outside a Public House in Rhyl. His victim suffered a fractured skull.
A month later at another bar in Rhyl, he attacked another person leaving them with sight and hearing impairment.
In May 2025, Cambell headbutted a stranger in Chester, and proceeded to punch a man who tried to stop the attack.
Then, in July 2025, Cambell punched a man on Wellington Road, Rhyl, causing him to hit his head on the ground. Officers who attended had to perform CPR at the scene. The victim sustained a fractured skull.
Commenting after sentencing, Detective Constable Jayne Marsden said: “Colin Cambell is without doubt a dangerous individual and the details of his unprovoked attacks against innocent members of the public are truly shocking.
“I am pleased that his victims will now have some peace of mind whilst he serves his sentence. Such assaults on the public are totally unacceptable, and we will always seek justice for the victims of such unnecessary and devastating crimes.”
