Caerphilly-based Team Metalogic has become the first managed IT service provider in Wales – and one of the first four in the UK – to earn a prestigious new trustmark.
The newly launched Assurix Trustmark independently looks at cyber-security and operational standards and verifies that managed service providers have effective security and operational controls in place.
The rigorous accreditation provides customers with independent evidence that Team Metalogic is continuously managing key risks and following the practices needed to deliver secure, reliable services. It comes as the Cyber-Security and Resilience Bill is moving through the House of Lords and is expected to place greater responsibility on managed service providers to strengthen their cyber-security measures, manage risks and report significant incidents.
Founded in 2003, Team Metalogic employs 13 people and provides managed IT, cyber security, cloud computing, telecoms and technology consultancy services to more than 120 SMEs across the UK. The company works as a strategic technology partner, helping businesses introduce secure, resilient and scalable systems that support their growth.
Mike Parfitt, founder and CEO of Team Metalogic, said: “Becoming the first managed IT service provider in Wales to earn the Assurix Trustmark is a proud achievement for our entire team.
“Businesses place an enormous amount of trust in their IT providers. They rely on us to protect their systems, information, reputation and day-to-day operations, so they deserve credible evidence that this work is being done properly. We chose to undertake the assessment voluntarily as part of our commitment to greater accountability and transparency, against the backdrop of proposed new legislation.
“The IT industry has gone unregulated for too long, and the standards offered by different providers can vary enormously. We believe that greater accountability and professionalisation can only be positive for customers and the industry.”
The achievement adds to Team Metalogic’s existing awards and accreditations, which include Cyber Essentials, IASME and the CompTIA Accredit UK Trustmark+.
