Y Llais will return for a third series on S4C in 2027.
The announcement comes ahead of Tafwyl, one of Wales’s biggest music festivals.
Y Llais is the Welsh language version of the global, multi award-winning hit TV series The Voice, an ITV Studios-owned format, which is currently broadcast in 77 territories.
Y Llais was first broadcast on S4C in 2025, produced by Boom Cymru, part of ITV Studios.
The iconic red chairs will spin once again next year as dozens more competitors from across the country give it their all to impress the coaches.
The last series made history when Carrie Sauce was named the winner – the first drag artist to win the series anywhere in the world.
But who will follow in the footsteps of Carrie and first series winner Rose Datta?
Applications are now open to compete in the next series with individuals and duets encouraged to apply.
Y Llais is a particularly popular series among younger audiences and Welsh learners, with a number of the competitors Welsh learners themselves.
The second series performed strongly on social media, with the content generating 9.6 million impressions.
Llion Iwan, S4C’s Chief Content Officer said: “I love hearing the competitors impress and inspire with their wonderful voices each year and it’s a pleasure to announce that Y Llais is back for another series. It’s good to see how the series has managed to appeal to younger audiences and new Welsh speakers and that so much of the viewing takes place on our digital platforms. I look forward to seeing who will be the next to face the red chairs – who knows, it might be your turn.”
More details about Y Llais Series 3 will be announced in due course.
