The Welsh Government’s First Supplementary Budget 2026-27 will be published later today, setting out targeted allocations of extra revenue and capital to fund the Government’s key priorities.
The budget will make early progress on the Government’s commitments to reduce NHS waiting times, expand childcare provision, extend free school meals to secondary school pupils on Universal Credit, and invest in social housing and schools.
The Finance Minister will make an oral statement to the Senedd today, framing the budget as an expression of the new Government’s priorities and values and setting out the approach to spending for the year ahead.
The Senedd will debate and vote on the First Supplementary Budget on 14 July 2026.
The budget builds on the 2026-27 Final Budget approved by the Senedd on 27 January, making targeted new allocations from reserves while restating budgets to reflect new ministerial portfolio responsibilities.
