Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Forest Gate Health Care Ltd, which comprises three care homes across South Wales: Woffington House, Ty Ross Nursing Home, and Oakdale Manor.

Founded by Richard Hutchinson over 25 years ago, Forest Gate Health Care Ltd is a reputable provider of care services across Wales. The group comprises three established care homes, all of which provide dementia and elderly care.

Ty Ross Care Home and Woffington House are purpose-built facilities, registered to accommodate up to 38 and 36 residents respectively. Both homes are located near local amenities in the towns of Treorchy and Tredegar, South Wales.

Oakdale Manor is a converted detached care home registered for up to 31 residents, offering a modern yet homely environment. It is conveniently located in Blackwood, Caerphilly, with easy access to essential services. All three homes are strategically positioned to support effective management oversight and efficient operational coordination.

In recent years, leadership transitioned to Richard’s son, Ian Hutchinson, who has since continued to strengthen the business while maintaining its high standards and respected market position.

After a successful two-decade operation within the healthcare sector, the Hutchinson family decided to sell the business as part of a strategic decision to pursue both retirement and other business ventures.

Following a confidential sales process led by Oliver McCarthy at Christie & Co, Forest Gate Health Care Ltd has been acquired by, The Oakwood Care Group, expanding its portfolio to five homes. This transaction represents Oakwood’s third acquisition through Christie & Co.

Richard and Ian Hutchinson, former owners of Forest Gate Health Care Ltd, comment, “Having started the business over two decades ago, this was an important decision for our family. We are proud of what has been achieved and confident that Oakwood is the right partner to take the business forward.”

Kuljit Grewal – CEO at The Oakwood Group, comments, “We are delighted to complete our third acquisition. Forest Gate Health Care Ltd is an excellent addition to our portfolio, and we look forward to continuing the success that Richard and Ian have built over many years.”

Oliver McCarthy, Director – Care at Christie & Co comments, “We are pleased to have facilitated this discreet sale. Forest Gate is a well-established and highly regarded business, and this transaction demonstrates the continued demand for quality care operators. We wish both the Hutchinson family and the Oakwood Care Group every success in their respective future ventures.”

Forest Gate Health Care Ltd was sold for an undisclosed price.
