Organisers of Blackweir Live have confirmed that The Cure’s highly anticipated Cardiff concert will go ahead as planned on Wednesday despite the extreme heat forecast across South Wales.
With temperatures expected to soar and weather warnings in place, organisers have announced a range of additional measures to help keep concertgoers and staff safe throughout the event at Blackweir Fields.
Among the measures being introduced are an increased water allowance, additional shaded areas and an enhanced welfare presence on site.
Fans attending the concert will now be permitted to bring two sealed 500ml bottles of water into the venue, double the usual allowance. Visitors can also bring an additional empty refillable water bottle, which can be topped up at free water stations located throughout the site.

Additional shaded areas are being provided for customers seeking respite from the heat, while extra welfare staff will be available to assist anyone who may need support during the event.
A statement from Blackweir Live said the additional measures are being introduced to ensure the safety of everyone attending and working at the concert during the period of exceptionally hot weather.
Mini fans will also be permitted inside the venue.
Concertgoers travelling to and from the event are being urged to plan ahead, with Transport for Wales operating a temporary timetable due to the hot weather.
Rail passengers have been warned that disruption is possible, with services potentially subject to delays or alterations because of the extreme temperatures affecting railway infrastructure.
Organisers are advising attendees to allow extra time for their journeys and check the latest travel information before setting off.
The sold out concert marks the opening night of this year’s Blackweir Live series and is expected to attract tens of thousands of music fans to Cardiff.
