Vaughan Williams from Tremorfa, Cardiff, has been jailed for a domestic-related kidnap.

The 51-year-old pleaded guilty to unlawfully, and by force, taking the victim against her will at her flat in Pentrebane.

Williams was sentenced to seven years in prison and is subject of a 10-year Restraining Order to further protect the victim.

During the incident in November last year, Williams forced the victim down the street and into her flat. He held her there until relatives intervened by knocking on the door.

Police were called and Williams was arrested.

He admitted kidnap and was sentenced at Newport Crown Court on June 12.

Detective Constable Amanda Pearce, who led the investigation, said:

“I would like to pay tribute to the bravery of the victim. The incident has had a profound impact on her emotionally, physically, and socially.

“We hope that she can now have peace of mind knowing that Williams is in prison for a significant period and a Restraining Order is in place.

“A dangerous person is now rightfully off our streets.”
