Work has begun at Taylor Wimpey South Wales’ flagship North East Cardiff development, Carreg Coetir, marking a groundbreaking step forward in the delivery of a major new scheme.
Over the coming years, up to 2,500 high quality homes will be delivered across five phases. In addition to new primary and secondary schools, a district centre will provide everything future residents need, including shops, food and drink outlets, and health and community facilities. Further land will also be available for new business and employment uses.
The plans also include thoughtfully designed walking and cycling active travel routes linking to green open spaces, a range of play areas, allotments, and local woodland, as well sustainable drainage basins and features.
This first phase of development, The Meadows at Carreg Coetir, focuses on the delivery of 196 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, as well as the construction of the main access road and key infrastructure that will support the delivery of future phases
Kate Lacey, Sales and Customer Director at Taylor Wimpey South Wales, said: “We are delighted that work is now underway at the North East Cardiff site. Once complete, residents will benefit from the developments’ excellent location, as well as an abundance of amenities that will all be within easy reach.
“We look forward to sharing regular updates on our progress until we are able to welcome the very first customers in the not-too-distant future.”
The first homes at the Carreg Coetir development are currently anticipated to launch in summer 2027, with further details to be released as the development progresses.
