Following the success of last year’s pop-up market in Maesteg town centre, the council’s Economic Development and Enterprise team has launched a similar initiative in Caerau, called “From Caerau. For Caerau”.

The pop-up venue, located in the former Credit Union building at 177 Caerau Road, is designed to offer local start-ups, creatives, and community groups in the local area a chance to test the market for their new business ventures.

The pop-up initiative offers short-term, no-cost access to empty premises for individuals and organisations to test their ideas, showcase products, and engage with customers in a high-visibility, low-risk environment.

Expressions of interest are now open, inviting makers, traders, small businesses, social enterprises and community groups to test the waters with their ideas and build their confidence in trading.

To register your interest, complete a brief expression of interest form on the council’s website.

“We know there are lots of talented and creative people in Caerau who have great ideas but may not be ready to take on the costs of a permanent shop. This pop-up space gives them the chance to test their ideas, meet customers and build confidence, all without the financial risk. We hope local people will get involved, whether that’s by applying for the space or by coming along to support the businesses and groups taking part.”

Councillor Colin Davies, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Housing

The pop-up is set to open its doors to the public this summer. Each pop-up, whether for a single day or an entire week, promises to introduce something new to the market, enhancing the vibrancy of the local economy.
