Some of Wales’ most inspiring social enterprises have been recognised for their contribution to communities, the environment and the economy at the Social Business Awards Wales 2026.
Twenty-one finalists from across the country were celebrated at a special ceremony held at The Muni in Pontypridd, with Carmarthenshire-based Myddfai taking home the prestigious Social Enterprise of the Year award.
The event also included an address from Adam Price MS.
The winners represented a wide range of sectors, including family support, community transport, environmental sustainability, employment opportunities and heritage regeneration.
Carmarthenshire business takes top award
Myddfai, based in Carmarthenshire, was named Social Enterprise of the Year, sponsored by GLL.
The business produces luxury Welsh toiletries, home fragrances and gifts inspired by local heritage, with a focus on sustainable and cruelty-free products.

All income generated by the social enterprise is reinvested into providing free programmes for young people.
Pembrokeshire charity recognised for transport innovation
Pembrokeshire-based PACTO was presented with the Social Enterprise Innovation Award, sponsored by The Co-op.
The charity and social business works to tackle transport inequality by supporting community transport providers, volunteers and innovative local services.
Its work helps people access essential services, including healthcare, education and employment, while reducing isolation and strengthening community connections.
Environmental award for Benthyg Cymru
Benthyg Cymru won the Environmental Social Enterprise Award, sponsored by Unity Trust Bank.
The organisation supports community Libraries of Things across Wales, encouraging people to borrow everyday items rather than purchasing products they may only need occasionally.
The initiative helps households save money, reduce waste and contribute to a more sustainable circular economy.
Recognition for inclusion and community support
The One to Watch Award, sponsored by Trivallis, went to PAN Cymru.
The parent-led social enterprise supports families involved in the child protection system through co-produced Parent Cafés, training and consultancy.
Founded on lived experience, the organisation brings parents and professionals together to reduce stigma, improve relationships and strengthen support for families.
More Than Flags and Rainbows CIC received the Social Enterprise Building Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Justice Award.
Through training, consultancy and community programmes, the organisation works with schools, businesses and communities to promote inclusion and tackle discrimination, bullying and exclusion.
Danielle John, founder of The EmpowHER Project CIC, was named Social Enterprise Women’s Champion.
Drawing on her own lived experience, Danielle supports women affected by trauma, addiction, homelessness and disadvantage through mentoring, advocacy and trauma-informed support.
Her work focuses on helping women build confidence, access opportunities and progress into leadership roles.
Heritage regeneration project recognised
Stori Brymbo received the Community-based Social Enterprise Award, sponsored by Cynon Taf Housing Group.
The community-led heritage charity is transforming the former Brymbo Steelworks site into a nationally significant visitor destination.
Through heritage, education, research, volunteering and tourism, the project aims to support regeneration and create long-term opportunities for the local community.
