wansea Council is inviting residents, local members and communities to have their say on a new strategy that will help shape how flood risk is managed across the city.
A public consultation has opened on the council’s new Local Flood Risk Management Strategy, which sets out plans to reduce flood risk across Swansea.
The strategy outlines the objectives that will guide future work, along with the measures the council believes are needed to help protect communities both now and in the future.
The council is already investigating a number of local flood risk areas across Swansea, with work focused on key catchments, schemes and locations where future improvements could make a difference.
Feedback from residents will be used to help identify local priorities, inform future plans and ensure the strategy reflects the needs of the communities it is intended to support.
People can take part in the consultation by visiting Swansea Council’s Local Flood Risk Management Strategy consultation.
The consultation will remain open until 17 August 2026.
