One of the United Kingdom’s leading plant hire companies, Chepstow Plant International, has made a substantial investment agreement with Volvo following a period of strong growth.

Chepstow Plant International, which is based in Caldicot, Monmouthshire, has invested more than £20million in 99 new Volvo Quarrying and Earthmoving equipment, including 59 dump trucks, 20 excavators, and 20 wheeled loaders, ranging from 25 to 50 tonne, which includes the flagship Volvo L260H.

The investment deal will run over the course of six-months, from April to October, and is part of an on-going established relationship with Volvo. By the end of the investment period, Chepstow Plant International will have purchased 245 machines from Volvo over a three-year period – an investment totalling more than £55million.

As part of Chepstow Plant’s commitment to the environment, health and safety, and employee welfare, all new machines are fitted with high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) cabin filters, which will help improve air filtration. All dump trucks will also be fitted with the revolutionary inclinometers that help ensure the machines can tip in a safe working environment and further supports preventative measures from the dump trucks overturning, further improving site safety and allowing the company to graduate towards “Zero-Risk”.

The company has also invested in the new Volvo telemetry system and failed tip data on the dumptrucks. This allows Chepstow Plant to conduct real time analysis into any recorded failed tips on the dump trucks and boost site productivity.

Speaking about the investment, Ross Hayward, Asset Manager at Chepstow Plant International, said:

“One of our main priorities at Chepstow Plant International is to offer our customers the best machinery available in the marketplace. This new investment deal is a significant one for us and demonstrates our continued commitment to providing our clients with the most advanced equipment available, whilst also being the most environmentally friendly possible.

“We have worked with Volvo for many years now and we are thrilled that we are able to continue our relationship and purchase high quality equipment for our customers.”

Chepstow Plant International is a privately-owned mineral and aggregates contractor that was established in 1995. In recent years, the company has experienced strong growth and operates one of the most modern contracting fleets in the UK of over 700 machines.
