South Wales-based law firm SB Lawyers has raised £54,794.77 for Dreams & Wishes Charity, funding unforgettable experiences for seriously ill children and their families across the UK.
Dreams & Wishes exists to bring moments of joy to children living with serious illness. Every penny it receives goes straight to the families it supports – from iPads and laptops to celebrity meet-and-greets, seasonal parties and family holidays – giving children and their families something to look forward to through times of uncertainty, and often financial as well as emotional strain.
This year alone, that support has helped fund a VIP visit to the House of Commons and London Eye, a royal tea party at Clarence House hosted by Her Majesty The Queen, meet-and-greets with Chelsea FC, a Taylor Swift tribute act, Billy Elliot tickets, Disney Princesses for a parents’ wedding, stays at the charity’s lodge at Dylan Coastal Resort, a ride on a tractor, a Carmarthen Bay Caravan Park holiday, bedroom furniture, a Samsung phone, and so much more — each wish tailored to bring a moment of pure joy to a child who truly deserves it.
Jonathan Collingbourne, Trustee of Dreams & Wishes Charity, said:
“Support like this is truly life-changing for a charity of our size. We’re entirely volunteer-led, and every single penny goes towards making wishes come true. SB Lawyers have had a massive impact on what we’ve been able to make happen for our children and their families. Over the last 12 months we’ve granted once-in-a-lifetime experiences we’re exceptionally proud of, and none of it would be possible without generosity like theirs.”
John Allison, Managing Director at SB Lawyers, said:
“I was first introduced to Dreams & Wishes more than 15 years ago, and I’ve seen first-hand the extraordinary difference the charity makes to children with life-limiting conditions and the families who love them. The dedication of its volunteers never ceases to amaze me — the hours they give to create these moments of joy, often during the hardest chapters of a family’s life, is remarkable. Passing £54,000 in donations from our clients is something we’re incredibly proud of, and I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to reaching this milestone, as well as the team at Dreams & Wishes for everything they do.”
This year has already brought a run of experiences made possible by donations like this — from the royal tea party at Clarence House to the VIP visit to the House of Commons, alongside the charity’s seasonal parties at Halloween, Christmas and summer safari trips. With SB Lawyers’ support, Dreams & Wishes can keep this momentum going, creating more of these moments for the children and families who need them most.
