A 41-year-old man has been sentenced for 19 years after sexually assaulting a child.
David Morris, of Blaenau Ffestiniog, appeared for sentencing at Mold Crown Court on 24 September.
He had previously been found guilty by trial of three counts of sexual assault, five counts of voyeurism and one count of making indecent images of a child.
He was jailed for 15 years with an extended period of four years to be served on license, bringing the total sentence to 19 years.
Morris was also made subject of a 20-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender indefinitely.
A restraining order was also imposed, preventing Morris from contacting the victim ever again.
Detective Sergeant Gemma Smith said: “The victim didn’t initially tell anyone about Morris’ actions because he convinced her that no one would believe her, even her own mum.
“Morris’s horrific abuse will no doubt have a life-long impact on the victim.
“I commend the victim’s bravery in finding the strength to speak out and I hope that this result allows her to move forward in the knowledge that he cannot harm anyone again.
“My message to anyone who has experienced sexual abuse, no matter when, is to seek support. We are here to listen and will fully investigate any reports made to us.”
