Green Man sells out again as 25,000 prepare for anniversary festival

Green Man has sold out all tickets for its 2027 festival in record time, months before any acts or programming have been announced.

Wales’ largest music, science and arts festival will welcome 25,000 people per day to the Black Mountains next August as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.

All tickets for the festival were released at 10am on Saturday, September 26, and sold out before any line-up information was revealed.

It means Green Man has become the first UK festival to sell out for 2027, a feat it has now achieved for five consecutive years.

The independent festival will return to the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park from August 19 to 22, 2027, with organisers promising plenty of surprises to mark its milestone anniversary.

The sell-out follows the festival’s 2026 event, which received a clean sweep of five-star reviews.

The Times described the festival as “a Welsh Shangri-La, free of marketing and branding, where revels spill over hill, dale and walled garden,”.

Speaking on the upcoming anniversary, Fiona Stewart, Owner & Managing Director of Green Man, said: “Diolch, diolch, thank you, thank you to all of you wonderful people who bought Green Man tickets for our 25th anniversary year. Planning has started and we can’t wait to unveil it all when you join us in the Black Mountains next August.”

Music remains at the heart of Green Man, but its 16 stages also feature science, arts, comedy, films, literature, workshops and wellness activities.

The festival remains entirely independent and sponsorship-free, with organisers placing a focus on community, accessibility and socially conscious events.

In 2026, Green Man became the first outdoor camping festival in the UK to receive the Platinum Charter from Attitude is Everything.

The recognition is awarded to festivals which innovate, influence and lead the live music and events industry in accessibility for deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people.

Green Man’s separate charitable arm, the Green Man Trust, also operates throughout the year.

Its work includes providing development opportunities for artists and creative, educational and social development opportunities within the arts and sciences and for disadvantaged Welsh communities.

The charity also provides community grants and funding in response to social and economic crises in the local area, while undertaking work around inequality, poverty and the climate crisis.
