Wales is set to enjoy spells of sunshine and temperatures reaching 21C today before wetter weather returns towards the end of the week.
The Met Office is forecasting a mixture of sunshine and scattered showers across the country on Wednesday, with early rain in eastern areas expected to clear quickly.
This will leave a brighter morning for many, although showers are expected to develop, particularly in western areas.
The showers will become more widespread as the afternoon progresses and could turn heavy in some places.
Despite the unsettled conditions, it will feel warm when the sun appears, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 21C.
Scattered showers will continue into Wednesday evening and overnight, although there will also be some clearer spells.
Temperatures will fall to around 10C overnight, making it feel slightly cooler than Tuesday night, particularly beneath clearer skies.
Thursday is expected to start with sunny spells alongside another scattering of showers.
The showers should gradually ease towards lunchtime, with many parts of Wales becoming dry during the afternoon. Temperatures will be closer to the seasonal average, reaching around 19C.
However, the drier conditions will not last.
The Met Office says rain will return on Friday and could become heavy for a time.
There remains a risk of further rain on Saturday before conditions are forecast to improve on Sunday, when Wales should see drier and brighter weather.
Temperatures throughout the weekend are expected to remain around average for the beginning of October.
