Cardiff-based electric vehicle (EV) provider FleetEV has taken on two apprentices through Cardiff and Vale College.
Willow Kerr-Smith and Emily Preddy have joined the company as Apprentice Sales and Operations Administrators, working across sales, operations and marketing while studying for their Level 3 Business Administration qualifications.
The 12-to-15-month programme, delivered through Cardiff and Vale College, combines on-the-job experience with formal learning. It covers business administration skills including information management, customer service, digital skills, event coordination and marketing research, and also supports the development of Welsh language skills in the workplace.
Apprentices on the programme receive regular assessor support and complete self-study and college-based assessments alongside their employment.
Jarrad Morris, Founder of FleetEV, said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Willow and Emily to the FleetEV team.
“Apprenticeships are a great way of giving young people the opportunity to gain real experience while developing their skills and qualifications, and we’re keen to support the next generation of talent here in Wales.
“Both Willow and Emily have already brought enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a real willingness to learn. They’re joining FleetEV at an exciting time as the business continues to grow, and we’re looking forward to seeing them develop their skills and careers with us.”
Willow said the company’s focus on sustainability and its ambitions for growth made the role particularly appealing.
She said: “I was attracted to FleetEV because it is environmentally friendly and a company that is keen to grow. I think that gives me the opportunity to progress within the business while developing my skills and experience.
“I’m looking forward to growing in a corporate role and learning skills that will help me in the future.”
Emily said: “I wanted to join FleetEV because of its strong focus on green energy and zero-emission vehicles. It is an industry that is growing and has a genuine purpose, particularly in terms of its potential environmental impact.”
Michèle Gate, Work Based Learning Training Coordinator at Cardiff and Vale College, said: “FleetEV has been incredibly supportive and has provided Emily and Willow with a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills, gain valuable industry experience and build a strong foundation for their future careers while working towards their Level 3 apprenticeship.”
FleetEV was founded in 2021 by Jarrad Morris and offers electric vehicle fleet solutions, business and personal leasing, and a vehicle salary sacrifice offering.
