Aberglasney Gardens has launched its autumn gin Hydref, produced in collaboration with the Gower Gin Company.
The gin is crafted in small batches with botanicals foraged from around the gardens. Ingredients include medlar, lime flower, blackberries and nasturtium.
Helen Scutt, Aberglasney Gardens’ Director, came up with the idea to create seasonal gins using ingredients from the gardens. She said: “The feedback from our winter and spring gins has been tremendous. This autumn gin tastes very different as we’ve used a combination of seasonal ingredients. Our artist in residence, Andrew Douglas-Forbes, designed the label for ‘Hydref’ which delicately illustrates the main ingredients. We hope you enjoy it. Visitors to our giftshop do not need to pay the admission fee into the gardens.”
Aberglasney Hydref Gin is available in the gardens giftshop in both 70cl and 20cl bottles.
Aberglasney was made famous by the BBC television series “A Garden Lost in Time”, which followed its restoration. It has a restored Elizabethan Cloister Garden and 10 acres of gardens, along with the restored ground floor of its grade II* listed mansion.
