    Top Award for South Wales based Architectural Stone company

    In recognition of outstanding craftsmanship showcased in the construction of a private chapel on an exclusive estate in the Cotswolds, Architectural Stone, part of the Welsh based MS-Group originating from the famous Mossfords company formed in 1821, have received the prestigious industry award for Craftsmanship for the interior of a building by the Stone Federation of Great Britain.

    Held at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in London on the 7thof December, The Natural Stone Awards 2018 celebrates the best of natural stone construction projects from across the industry. Each year there are hundreds of projects entered from across the United Kingdom.

    This is the first year that the company have entered the National Stone Federation Awards, following their completion of such a unique and bespoke project.

    Working closely with world renowned architect, Craig Hamilton, following a competitive tender Architectural Stone were commissioned to supply, produce and construct all the required stone work for the magnificent private chapel on the Williamstrip Estate in the Cotswolds.

    The project demonstrated the companies project-management ability as well as superb high-quality skills from their experienced banker-masonry and fixing teams.

    The building period concluded in February 2017 to an exceptional standard, surpassing the client’s demanding and challenging expectations and culminated in receiving such a prestigious industry award.

    Simon. D. Morgan, Managing Director of MS-Group, said:

    “We are delighted that our craftsmanship and skills have been recognised on a truly national scale with this prestigious award which is recognised around the world – this, for our trade is equivalent to the Oscars, the Turner Prize, the Booker Prize – and so to achieve this in light of such excellent competition across the whole of the UK is a real achievement. We are honoured to be bringing this prestigious award back to Wales and feel it will encourage the continued work of traditional Welsh craftsmanship.

    “I am exceptionally proud of our very talented, creative and innovative team who really rose to this magnificent challenge – they are proof that traditional crafts can flourish and evolve with modern techniques and technologies to create stunning results.

    “We are honoured to have had the opportunity to work so closely with such a well-respected and world-renowned architect as Craig Hamilton and are grateful to him and the client for the confidence they placed in us.This award is clear evidence that this confidence was well founded.”
