Quadrant Shopping Centre has announced that it has ‘scored’ leading sports retailer, JD Sports which will be opening its doors at the centre later in the year.

The retailer will be located opposite Superdry and will cover an area of 7500sq. ft. The store will be selling all of its usual top sporting brands of footwear, clothing, and accessories.

Lisa Hartley, Quadrant Shopping Centre manager, said:

“We are thrilled to welcome JD to the centre. It’s one of the country’s leading players in branded sports and fashionwear distribution, with all the best names under its roof. This is a hugely exciting addition to our retail line up.”

This is the first JD Sports to open in the heart of Swansea. Its not only a welcome addition to Quadrant Shopping Centre but is also a positive step in the regeneration of the city centre, which is looking to attract more big-name retailers, offering an improved environment for shoppers, visitors and workers.

Swansea BID (Business Improvement District) Chief Executive, Russell Greenslade, said: “It’s great to see more investment and jobs coming into the city centre from commercially astute operators such as JD Sports. In recent months we have seen the arrival national brands as well as smaller independent retailers in Swansea, giving us a mix of businesses that will help us continue to attract more footfall.”

Lisa said that offering its retailers a great shopping experience was a goal it was constantly aiming to achieve. She continued: “We are at the hub of the city and with that comes responsibility to deliver popular brands. The strength of our brand means we are able to attract both national and local retailers to the centre and that we continue to be at full occupancy.

“JD is very much in line with our vision and will further add to our excellent retail environment.”
