One of Cardiff’s leading creative agencies has launched a new partnership with a mental health charity in Wales.

Orchard Media and Events will be working with the Mental Health Foundation for the next two years on a range of training materials and campaigns to help raise awareness of their important prevention work and the support that’s available for people to access.

The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) works to improve mental health services and promotes mental wellbeing for everyone in Wales. Focusing on preventative measures, MHF works with the public sector, third sector, businesses, schools and communities across Wales.

Jenny Burns, Mental Health Foundation’s Programme Lead for Wales said:

“An individual’s mental wellbeing is crucial and can affect their path through life- their work, relationships, family- everything. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate and it’s great that people are talking more about it but there’s still a lot to be done to tackle the issues.

“Our work concentrates on preventing mental ill-health and supporting people to learn about mental wellbeing and to build their resilience.

“We’re really excited to be working with Orchard. Their knowledge and experience will help us promote our work in new ways to help support more people in Wales, which is the ultimate goal.”

Orchard will work closely with MHF to deliver specific training to support its staff alongside innovative PR campaigns to promote existing and brand-new nationwide initiatives.

Tim Powell, Director at Orchard said:

“After a hugely successful two-year partnership with Huggard the homeless charity, we know that we can make a real, positive difference outside of our day-to-day work. We’re excited to begin work with the Mental Health Foundation because we know first-hand that the creative industries is a fast-paced, often pressured environment. Many professionals put their own mental health at the bottom of their priority list.

We’re a company that’s grown considerably. Our people are what makes us here at Orchard and their mental wellbeing is our main priority. Our new partnership with the Mental Health Foundation will help us train, equip and support our staff as well as spreading the message far and wide to help others.”
