Disco legends Nile Rodgers & CHIC to headline Cardiff Castle summer gig

Nile Rodgers has celebrated decades of success both as an artist and producer; has been inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and in recent years, has collaborated with Daft Punk, Avicci and Sigala.

CHIC and Rodgers have a string of top 10 pop hits to their name, including Everybody Dance, Le Freak, I Want Your Love, Dance, Dance, Dance and Good Times.

Their one-off gig at Cardiff Castle is being organised by the same team behind the DEPOT venue on Dumball’s Road. It will take place on Friday 12th July, the night before DEPOT in the Castle – Cardiff’s one day, family-friendly music festival (now in its third year).

Though the two events will share the same venue, the Friday concert and Saturday festival are being ticketed separately, with the Nile Rodgers & CHIC gig operating a strict over 14’s policy.

DEPOT founder Nick Saunders explained, “We’re really looking forward to bringing a massive weekend of live entertainment to the castle this summer. It’s a real honour for our independent company to be bringing the legend that is Nile Rodgers – and his band CHIC – to our city. Summer headliners don’t get much better than that!”

Tickets to DEPOT presents: Nile Rodgers & CHIC will go on sale on Friday 8th February at 9am, priced between £55.50 – £80.50.
