Eight year old Zazie  alongside best friend Nat, who became a household name after his infamous appearance on Channel 4’s ‘The Secret Life of 5 year Olds’, has written and recorded a song about her hometown of Cardiff in a bid to raise money for Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales.

The song was launched this week at Radnor Road Primary School in Cardiff.

‘Cardiff City’ is available to download  on Bandcamp with proceeds of sales going to the Bobath Wales Therapy Centre in Whitchurch, Cardiff,  which is attended by Zazie’s older brother Jordi who has cerebral palsy.

Jordi, 12, was diagnosed just before his 2nd birthday in 2009. He began attending Bobath Wales soon after and following specialist therapy, was eventually able to walk. Despite Jordi’s progress, it became clear he would need an operation to sever and reset both his femurs.

After an operation last summer, Jordi is now recovering well and is a member of Cardiff City FC’s community foundation programme, which provides weekly football sessions for children with disabilities.

Inspired by her brother’s bravery and determination, Zazie and best friend Nat took to the studio to record the song they penned with a little help from Jordi’s father, acclaimed children’s author Jon Blake.

“I liked it first of all because it’s a nice tune!” said Jordi “I also like it because it’s about Cardiff and its history. It’s an excellent song for an excellent charity!”

Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales provides free specialist therapy for children across Wales who have cerebral palsy. They also provide a support service for families of children with cerebral palsy.

Bobath Wales’ Community Fundraiser Rachel Matthews, said, “As a registered charity, Bobath Wales needs to raise £1.5M each year to keep the centre running at current levels.  Last year, 76%of our revenue funding came from donations, retail, gifts in Wills and fundraising activity. This fantastic song will help raise money and help spread the word. We are extremely grateful to the Blake family and Nat for all their hard work and continued support.”
