The company behind the zip wire planned for Cardiff Bay has announced it will now arrive in Cardiff in the spring of 2020, running through the entire summer until September 2020.

The City Zip Company’s Founder and CEO, Barry Shaverin

“We had hoped to open this year but an essential diligence process with the Harbour Authority has taken longer than planned” said Barry Shaverin, The City Zip Company’s founder and Chief Executive.

“We are still in the council’s planning process and will be bringing visitors, jobs and additional revenue to the city, while at the same time taking measures to ensure that noise pollution, lighting and other factors are low impact to neighbours and wildlife.”

[aoa id=”1″]Tickets for the 2020 event will go on sale in batches from today (Saturday, 13th July 2019), with the lowest priced being released first at cardiff.zip-now.co. Those who have already purchased pre-release, discounted vouchers will have access to an exclusive window to secure a slot of their choosing before anyone else.[/aoa]

They will also be treated to an exclusive Zip Now gift on arrival.

If these new dates don’t work for existing voucher holders, they will of course be entitled to receive a full refund, or can utilise their vouchers any time this summer at Zip Now London, running on London’s South Bank from June until 15 September 2019.

Barry Shaverin adds, “We are immensely grateful to Cardiff, and all of our early adopters and voucher holders, for their support and continued enthusiasm for this ambitious project.

“A special mention must go to the events team at Cardiff Council and also to the voco St. David’s Hotel, who have been wonderful partners throughout – we couldn’t hope to deliver an event of this size without their support.”

The first ever attraction of its kind in the Welsh capital will operate seven days a week from March 2020 as riders launch themselves 45 metres up from the roof of the voco St. David’s Hotel and across Cardiff Bay, landing at a dedicated site near the Norwegian Church.
