Five Welsh charities have benefited from a cash injection of £20,000 from Loteri Cymru over the last 12 months.
This Autumn marks one year since Loteri Cymru was relaunched by Sterling Lotteries, the leading fundraising lottery provider, together with Charities Trust.
Loteri Cymru was created to support Welsh charities and causes close to the hearts of the Welsh people. The five charities currently benefitting from the funds raised by Loteri Cymru include LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity, Welsh Hearts, The Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales, Youth Cymru and North Clwyd Animal Rescue. Further funds have also been set aside for distribution before the end of the year.
Together with supporting the charities through ticket sales, individual winners have also had the chance to scoop the £25,000 jackpot cash prize. It costs just £1 a week to play, and after operating costs and prizes, 100% of all profits raised are dedicated to supporting the charities.

CEO of Youth Cymru, Julia Griffiths, said: “Youth Cymru are delighted to be receiving the support from Loteri Cymru and want to give a big thank you to all Loteri Cymru supporters from us and all the young people we work with. Your money and support is hugely valued and allows us to continue to deliver vital youth work projects across Wales, changing the lives of young people for the better.”
