Festive shoppers, commuters and Christmas party-goers are getting travel advice from Cardiff Bus as they prepare for the Christmas season.

The operator is advising customers of timetable changes through the festive and new year period, which will see services altered between December 24 and January 1.

Starting on Christmas Eve all services will follow a Saturday timetable, except for services 98, H59, H95, and X59 which will run a Tuesday service, with an early finish across all routes at approximately 7pm.

There will be no buses running on Christmas Day, and a special timetable running across certain routes on Boxing Day.

On December 27 there will be a Saturday timetable on all routes, except for services 98, H59, H95 and X59, which will run a Friday service.

Normal timetables will apply on December 28 and 29 while on December 30 all services will follow Saturday timetables, except for the 98, H59, H95 and X59, which will follow a Monday service.

On Tuesday 31 services will follow a Saturday timetable, apart from the 98, H59, H95 and X59, which will follow a Tuesday service with an early finish on all services.

Cardiff Bus will also be offering free travel on selected routes between approximately 8pm and 3am on New Year’s Eve, thanks to sponsorship from bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis.

On New Year’s Day there will be a limited daytime timetable running across certain routes, while normal service will resume on January 2.

Travel information is also available from https://www.cardiffbus.com/ along with detailed timetables and last bus times over the Christmas period.

Cardiff Bus operations and commercial director Gareth Stevens said: “We’re continuing to run a comprehensive service to ensure customers can enjoy their festive activities.

“We’re also thrilled to be offering a select number of free night buses on certain routes for New Year’s Eve once again, which always proves popular across the city.

“We hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and New Year, and we’d like to remind our customers to check our website and social media for all the latest travel news and information.”
