    Police appeal following early morning assault in Bridgend

    Police in Bridgend are investigating an assault which happened on Wyndham Street in the town centre at around 2.00am this morning (Thursday 5th December).

    A 23 year old man from Aberkenfig has been taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital where he is being treated from a head injury.  At this stage the injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

    Two men, one aged 22 from Newcastle upon Tyne and the other aged 28 from Plymouth, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently assisting the police with enquires.

    Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who was in the area at the time to contact South Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and quote reference number 1900447470.
