    Murder investigation launched following death of man in Glynneath

    South Wales Police has launched a murder investigation after the discovery of the body of a 73-year-old man in the Danygraig Lane area of Pontwalby, Glynneath on Monday January 27 2020.

    A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

    Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Darren George, South Wales Police’s Major crime team said:

    ”A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a body in the Pontwalby area of Glynneath early yesterday evening.

    “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the Pontwalby area between 2pm and 8pm on Monday evening who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area.

    “The investigation is in its early stages and specialist trained officers are supporting family members.

    “I urge anyone who may have information no matter how insignificant they may think it is to please contact the major incident room.”
