Independent pub group Knife & Fork Food has announced plans to open its sixth location. The new venue is in the coastal village of Sully in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Knife & Fork Food have acquired The Boat House, and following a short rebrand period, will be reopening as The Sully Inn on February 28th.

This launch marks the latest stage in the popular regional pub group’s expansion programme, which in recent years has seen the launch of The Discovery in Lakeside and Twenty Nine Park Place in Cardiff city centre, accumulating plaudits from the likes of Michelin’s Eating Out in Pubs Guide and the CAMRA Good Beer Guide along the way.

The continued success of the pub group resulted in a turnover of £4.5m in 2019, enabling their steady development strategy, with plans to acquire yet more properties in 2020-21 in key locations across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

The latest venue, which is situated on Cog Road in the heart of Sully, is currently undergoing a rebrand, which will bring the pub in line with the rest of the group’s streamlined design aesthetic, and restoring the local pub feel to the premises.

The menu will be overseen by the group’s senior chef Stefan Nilsson, an established figure in the industry who mastered his craft in some of Europe’s finest Michelin starred restaurants.

From the kitchen, the team will be serving up a menu which combines popular pub classics, the grill board and a variety of regularly changing chef inspired dishes.

Local ales from Grey Trees and VoG as well as a good selection of craft beers will be introduced to the bar.

Speaking about the launch of The Sully Inn, Sharon Noakes, Director of Knife & Fork Food, said: “We are always on the lookout for pubs in the heart of local communities  – we want to be in amongst chimney pots, right in the soul of the village – and The Sully Inn offers just that.

“We hope previous and loyal Boat House customers continue to feel right at home there, but we also hope to attract visitors from further afield who may not yet have experienced a Knife & Fork Food pub before. This is a wonderful opportunity, and we’re very excited to start 2020 with the launch of our sixth location”.

The new location located in the Vale: The Sully Inn, 4 Cog Road, Sully, CF64 5TD.
