To celebrate St David’s Day, St David’s Cardiff is unveiling five exclusive limited-edition custom mini figures of Welsh legends created using real Lego pieces. Only available to purchase on the 1st March exclusively at St David’s shopping centre, all proceeds from the collection will be donated to Welsh charities.

The five ‘Mini Welsh Legends’, include Gareth Bale, Gareth ‘Alfie’ Thomas, Ruth Jones as Nessa, Sir Tom Jones and Dame Shirley Bassey. Fifty of each mini figure has been created and will be available to purchase on St David’s Day from 11am – 5pm. Customers can get their hands on one of the exclusive mini figures by making a minimum £5 donation. All proceeds will be donated to five Welsh charities that have links to Welsh Legends who inspired the mini figures.

The charities benefiting from the limited-edition collection are Velindre, Pride Cymru, Ty Hafan, Valley’s Kids and Noah’s Ark.

Hywel Butcher, Marketing Manager for St David’s Cardiff, commented: “We’re really looking forward to seeing shoppers’ reactions to the celebrity mini figures, we absolutely love them, and it’s great to see each character come to life! Over the years, our shoppers have shown incredible generosity to our charitable appeals – such donating thousands of toys to our Toy Appeal, or queuing out of the door for our artwork inspired by the city raising tens of thousands of pounds.

The five charities benefitting from the campaign undertake fantastic work in supporting our community. All we ask is you pick up one of the icons and make your donation – or you can purchase whole set and complete your collection!”

Throughout St David’s Day, the ‘Mini Welsh Legends’ will be on display at the lower level, near Clogau, in St David’s Cardiff. Figurines will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
