Wales rugby fans and bus users in Cardiff are being urged to plan their journeys ahead of time as the Six Nations returns to the city this weekend.

Travellers are being reminded by Cardiff Bus of diversions and road closures which are set to come into force in the city centre on Saturday as Wales take on Scotland at the Principality Stadium.

From 10.45am to 5.45pm diversions will be in place and buses will use alternative city centre stops.

Services 1 and 2 will not serve the rear of Central Railway Station (Stop JM & JN) from the time roads are closed until the end of service, and will start and end at Canal Street.

The Baycar service 6 will start and end at the Customhouse Street (stop JG) only and will not serve the city centre loop or rear of Central Railway Station from the time the roads close until the end of service.

Services 8, 9, 9A, 9C, 13 (to Cardiff Bay or Sports Village) and X45 towards Cardiff Bay Retail Park will start and end at Hayes Bridge Road.

    Services 13 (to Drope), 15, 17, 18, 25, 61, 62, 63, 63A, 64, 66, 95, 95A, 96 and 96A will start and end at Tudor Street.

    Services, 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 28A, 28B, 30, 35, 51, 53 will start and end at Greyfriars Road.

Services 8 and 9 to the Heath Hospital, 11, 44, 45, 49, 50, 52, 57, 58 and X45 (to St Mellons) will start and end at Churchill Way.

Services 92, 93 and 94 will start and end at Customhouse Street during the closure.

In addition to these changes, Station Terrace will be open to buses only, and general traffic will be diverted via Fitzalan Place. The bus stops towards the city centre outside Cardiff Royal Infirmary on Newport Road will not be in use as a result.

Gareth Stevens, Operations and Commercial Director at Cardiff Bus said: “To accommodate road closures and to ensure travel can continue without too much disruption, we’ve introduced diversions in the city centre when Wales’ Six Nations matches are played at home here in Cardiff.

“We would advise all our customers to check these route changes before travelling on match days to ensure they are fully informed on the diversions in place.”
