Cardiff Bus is alerting passengers to modified timetables in response to the latest preventative measures brought in by the Government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

The operator will be running Sunday timetables across the majority of its services throughout the week from Wednesday, March 25th.

Exceptions to this will be services 1 and 2 city circular routes via Heath Hospital, which will follow a Saturday timetable, from Mondays through to Saturdays  Services 65to Heath Hospital via Llanrumney and St Mellons and the H59 Heath Hospital’s Park & Ride service will follow their Monday to Friday timetable on weekdays.

Additionally, service 95 will follow an adapted timetable supporting customers working at Llandough Hospital.

These changes have come into effect following the Government’s latest briefing advising that all travel, except for key workers, should cease until further notice.

Cardiff Bus has introduced these service changes in a bid to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all its customers and staff.

The operator will continue to run buses to support key workers in reaching work and accessing shops for essentials.

Operations and Commercial Director Gareth Stevens said: “We have taken the decision to limit most of our services to a Sunday timetable from March 25th.

“This decision has not been taken lightly, but has been introduced following the latest Government briefing which prohibits non-essential travel.

“We will continue to run buses to ensure our customers can access essential health services, with services travelling to hospitals being modified to ensure their staff can get to and from work.

“We have also ensured that our timetable provides customers with ample access to journeys to the supermarket for essentials, while our staff will monitor these services to ensure the health and safety of all those travelling.

“We’d like to reassure all our customers using Cardiff Bus at this time that we will continue to carry out extensive cleaning regimes across our entire fleet, with thorough cleaning of hand rails, handles and any additional areas which customers may come into contact with.

“Customers are also reminded to adhere to guidance by keeping a safe distance from our drivers and not leaning across the protective screen.

“We are continuing to closely monitor all the latest Government and Public Health Wales guidelines relating to Coronavirus, and will keep our customers fully updated on all service-related developments.

“Timetable information will be updated on our website www.cardiffbus.com, and the latest updates will also be posted on  our social media channels to keep the public informed during this period.

“We’d like to thank you for your co-operation and patience during this challenging time.”

Cardiff Bus’s customer service centres on Sloper Road and Westgate Street are closed, customers are reminded that tickets can be purchased on the app and timetable and route information is available on the app and website.
