Leading Welsh charity Kidney Wales is pleased to confirm several sponsor partnerships for its annual 10K race, set to take place on 2nd September.

The Nation Radio Cardiff 10K, which owes its name to its new headline sponsor,is open to runners of all standards and provides a great opportunity for people to have fun as they get fit and raise both awareness and money for the Kidney Wales cause.

Cardiff Council, James and Jenkins, Run and Become and Brecon Carreg have also returned to support the race again this year, while Cardiff Metropolitan University, Sport Cardiff, Eurobond, and AR Digital are getting involved for the first time.

Kidney Wales has been working in conjunction with Cardiff Council to bring a new 2018 route designed to offer a fast and flat course that runs through the heart of Cardiff’s city centre.

The event is receiving further backing from Sport Cardiff, an organisation which aims to improve the Health and Wellbeing of the Welsh capital’s population by providing accessible and appropriate opportunities through sport.

Applications for the race are already open, with 10,000 spaces up for grabs – one for every kidney disease patient across Wales.

The day will also see a 2K Family Fun Run take place for families to enjoy the event together; andthe Corporate Challenge will enable work colleagues to develop friendships as well as team and competitive spirit. These are sponsored by Cardiff Metropolitan University and Eurobond respectively.

In the lead up to the event, specialist running shop Run & Become will offer training tips on its website and 10% discount at its St Mary Street store for all registered runners.

Brecon Carreg Mineral Water signed up to be the official water supplier, and James and Jenkins Garages will be providing a promo and lead car for the race.

Roy J Thomas, Kidney Wales CEO, said:

“We receive incredible feedback each year on the Cardiff 10K, and we are very much looking forward to bringing an even bigger and better race in 2018 with both new and loyal partners.

“The run promises to be a really enjoyable day for the amazing people looking to raise funds for our work, and we could not make it happen without the support of our sponsors. The backing they provide is integral to the success of what is one of the UK’s best loved road races, and we are now counting the days until 2nd September!”

Kidney Wales is a charitable organisation whose history dates back over 50 years and focuses on delivering support for people battling the effects of kidney disease across the length and breadth of the nation.

Alongside the Nation Radio 10K, the charity presents numerous fundraising opportunities throughout the year, including nationwide Walk for Life events and the chance to represent the charity at multiple marathons and half-marathons across Wales.
