Cardiff Castle gigs postponed until 2021

The organisers behind two headline gigs planned to take place at Cardiff Castle this summer have announced their postponement as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak.

With social distancing measures likely to be in place for the foreseeable future, DEPOT Live has rescheduled both FOALS and DEPOT in the Castle, which will be headlined by indie rockers The Kaiser Chiefs.

    • FOALS at Cardiff Castle will now take place on 5th June 2021(instead of 10th July 2020).
    • One-day festival DEPOT in the Castle will now take place on the 10th July 2021 (instead of 11th July 2020).

DEPOT Live founder Nick Saunders said, “In light of COVID-19, we have taken the decision to postpone both FOALS and DEPOT in the Castle until summer 2021. Although we are gutted, at this time of such unprecedented uncertainty we know that this is the only way to ensure the safety of our artists, our staff and of course, our ticket-holders.”

The cancellation of both events is a blow to the crew, partners, suppliers, street food traders and live music community in Cardiff, who thanks to Coronavirus social distancing measures, will be facing a summer like no other. As a result, all tickets for DEPOT in the Castle 2020 and FOALS will automatically carry over to 2021, and ticket holders will not need to do anything to validate their tickets for next year’s dates. Future ticket sales may be subject to an additional admin fee as a result of the date change.

Nick explained, “We are asking people to hold onto their 2020 tickets if they can, as it will be a huge help in keeping our costs covered until we can welcome everyone to the grounds of Cardiff castle to enjoy live music in that iconic setting once again.”
