Insole Court awarded funding to help protect jobs

Insole Court, a Victorian mansion and gardens, in Llandaff, Cardiff has secured over £170,000 of grant funding from the National Lottery’s Coronavirus support schemes.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund have both agreed to support the Insole Court Trust as it responds to the Covid-19 crisis. The Arts Council of Wales has also awarded a grant from its ‘Stabilisation fund for organisations.’

Since reopening to the public in 2016, Insole Court has become a popular venue for events such as weddings, concerts and food festivals but closed in March at the beginning of the lockdown. Although it has reopened its café and gift shop, the Insole Court Trust has lost a significant amount of income from cancelled events and the funding will help to cover the charity’s costs.

Insole Court’s Director, Gray Hill, explained:

“We’re delighted to have secured this funding from the National Lottery and the Arts Council of Wales. The Coronavirus crisis has had a severe impact on the charity, and this support will allow us to rebuild, protect jobs and keep Insole Court free and open for the people of Cardiff. We are immensely grateful to the National Lottery and its players who have made this support possible.”
