Following a hugely successful pop-up, speciality Welsh coffee company Kin+Ilk has opened a permanent café at St David’s.

Kin+Ilk, meaning family and kind, is focused on providing directly sourced coffee from the producer, Finca El Corozo, in partnership with Clifton Coffee, whilst supporting the local communities in El Salvador.  Locally sourced products from Welsh suppliers – including artisan bakery supplier Alex Gooch, The Chocolate Brownie Co., and Douglas Willis Butchers – are available as part of an all-day menu, serving up to 56 covers from breakfast to brunch or lunch, as well as a grab and go offer. All takeaway drinks and food are served in 100% compostable cups and packaging by Vegware.

James Waugh, Centre Director at St David’s said “We’re delighted that Kiln+Ilk are commiting to St David’s with a permanent store offering after proving such a popular pop-up. It’s important to both the centre and our visitors to be supporting local businesses, especially when there is such a brilliant cause behind them. By offering them a permanent location, we’re extending the centre’s food offering and providing sustainable and locally sourced offerings.”

Haydn Darke, Director at Kin+Ilk, added: “We initially opened at St David’s for a Christmas pop-up, and soon saw the demand for our unique coffee and range of locally made products. We wanted a more permanent location within the destination, so we waited for the right unit to become available to complement our other coffee shops in Wales, and are pleased to have been able to open our doors and grow our business further at St David’s.”

Kin+Ilk officially opened to the public on Saturday 22nd August. This launch followed the recent opening of the global teen brand, Hollister opening a new-look concept design store on Upper Grand Arcade earlier this month.

The new café is located on Hills Street, adjacent to Hugo Boss and directly accessed via The Hayes.
