Wales based garden building and landscape centre, Eden Landscapes has raised £1,537 for Tŷ Hafan, one of Wales’ leading charities, that aims to meet all of the needs of life-limited children, young people and their families.

Tŷ Hafan, like many charities, have found themselves in urgent need of support following the impact of COVID-19, with the children’s hospice forecasting a significant drop in income due to coronavirus restrictions. With only 6% of its annual funding coming from the government, Tŷ Hafan relies on the generosity of the public to carry out its vital services.

As long-standing supporters of the Charity, the team at Eden Landscapes decided to take action by running a campaign to raise and donate money for Tŷ Hafan through August.

The success of the campaign resulted in over 50 sheds and summerhouses being sold, with customers delighted that a percentage of their purchase was going towards helping the charity.

Jamie Bloomfield, Director of Eden Landscapes explains his delight at the company’s efforts to support the charity:  “We feel very grateful that our business has bounced back during the pandemic due to lots of people carrying out garden and DIY projects. However, we are acutely aware that other business owners, and in particular charities, have had a very tough time and felt we should do our best to help, and raise money for such a wonderful cause.

Tŷ Hafan, a registered charity, provides support for young people and offers a high standard of free care to children in Wales who may pass away in childhood. The charity seeks to enrich their quality of life and support their families during life, at end-of-life and through bereavement.

Maria Timon Samra, CEO of Tŷ Hafan said: “It’s been a trying time for Tŷ Hafan due to the pandemic as much of our planned fundraising activity has come to a halt. That said, we’ve been astounded by the level of support from businesses and individuals across the country who have continued to support us through this difficult time.

“All of us at Tŷ Hafan would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff at Eden Landscapes and the local customers who helped make this campaign such a success. The funds raised will help us be there for the life-limited children and families in our care at this important time, both at our hospice and out in the community.

Eden Landscapes are a Penarth and Wenvoe based company, established in 2002. Their team has gained a reputation for providing a high quality professional landscaping services, as well as providing high quality multi-use sheds, a product which has seen a sharp increase in take-up with customers seeking outbuilding options for home office space and exercise areas.

Mr Bloomfield concluded: “Tŷ Hafan is a fantastic charity with wonderful staff helping people through very difficult times and they must continue to function.   We are pleased that the campaign we ran to support the charity has helped and will continue to find ways to support them.”
