New Swansea Restaurant Remains Optimistic Despite Fire Break Lockdown

The team at one of Swansea’s newest restaurants are remaining optimistic about the future despite having to close its doors from Friday under the Welsh government’s ‘fire break’ enforced lockdown.

The Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, which is located at J Shed in the SA1 area of the city, opened its doors in August, and quickly established itself as one of the more popular places to eat out with a waiting list to reserve a table.

The team is now focusing on the last few days of service, before closing the doors for two weeks.

Rhys Andrews, restaurant manager said: “Since we opened back in the summer, the response from the people of Swansea has been quite phenomenal and shows that there is most definitely an appetite to eat out.

“Our success has revolved around a number of factors including excellent service, delicious food and drink and a great ambiance and I’d like to thank everyone who has dined with us since we opened.

“I think as well, the measures we have put in place to ensure the health and safety of both our guests and staff also reassured those who have dined with us that we have gone above and beyond what is expected from venues such as ours.

“It’s a shame that we now have to close for two weeks, but will look forward to reopening on 9 November, and I’d recommend to guests to reserve a table now to ensure that when we do reopen, they don’t miss out.

“We’ve got a fantastic new Autumn menu that’s been put together by Marco personally and features some fantastic dishes that are perfect for this time of the year. It’s also the ideal remedy for when the fire break lockdown comes to an end.

“Of course, there is still time to visit us before we have to close on Friday and we’ll look forward to welcoming guests until then.”
