A New Mum’s Verdict: How the Stokke YOYO³ Makes Life Easier

As a new mum, finding the right pram for my baby was a big decision and the Stokke® YOYO³ has been an absolute lifesaver. Living in a small house and constantly juggling errands, I needed something compact, lightweight, and easy to use. After weeks of research, I decided on the YOYO³, and honestly, it’s been perfect for our family.

Compact and Perfect for Small Homes

Space is always a challenge in modern new build houses, and the YOYO³ fits right into our lifestyle. When folded, it’s so compact—just 52 x 44 x 18 cm—that it fits neatly in our under the stairs cupboard without taking up much room. I can even pop it into the car boot without having to rearrange everything. It’s incredibly lightweight too, at just 6.2 kg (13.6 lbs), which means I can carry it easily, even when I’m holding my baby. This feature is especially helpful when I’m getting in and out of the car or navigating small spaces.

So Easy to Assemble and Use

One of the best things about the YOYO³ is how easy it is to put together. As a new mum, I don’t have time to wrestle with complicated instructions or clunky mechanisms. With the base coming in one piece, the only assembly required is the chosen pack.

The YOYO³’s one-handed folding and unfolding system is a dream come true—I can literally hold my baby in one arm and fold or open the stroller with the other. Though the wheels do have to be perfectly aligned for this to work, there have been a few times when they were misaligned, requiring a quick adjustment before folding. Despite that, every part clicks into place seamlessly, and it feels sturdy and secure, thanks to the high-quality screws and durable build. It’s a relief knowing I don’t have to struggle with setting it up, even on my most hectic days.

Comfort and Safety for My Baby

Of course, my baby’s comfort and safety are my top priorities, and the YOYO³ delivers on both fronts. I love that it has:

    • An extended canopy with water-repellent and Anti-UV (UPF 50+) fabric. Whether it’s sunny or drizzling (definitely more drizzly in Cardiff), I know my little one is protected. Though the buttons can be a little tricky to clip, I see this becoming easier the more it is used.
    • Enhanced ventilation, which is designed to keep him cool and comfortable on warmer days.
    • Shock-absorbing wheels, which make the ride smooth even when we’re walking on uneven pavements or gravel paths.

I also appreciate the adjustable recline options with the ‘from 6 month’ pack —perfect for when he needs to nap while we’re out and about or when he’s awake and curious about the world around him.

    Perfect for Our Busy Lifestyle

As a mum, I’m always on the go—whether it’s running errands, visiting family, or even walking the baby to get him to sleep. The YOYO³ adapts so well to everything we do. It’s incredibly versatile, starting in newborn mode with a bassinet or newborn pack, and transitioning seamlessly to a toddler stroller when the time comes is such a game-changer— and means no need to invest in multiple products.

We opted for the newborn pack over the newborn shell as it allows our baby to lay flat and it’s also travel-friendly. This means it can fold compactly enough without being dismantled to fit into an airplane’s overhead compartment, which will make planning our first family holiday so much easier.

Another thing I love is how quickly I can attach accessories like the car seat adapters, allowing me to move our baby without disturbing his sleep. Everything about this stroller has been designed to make parents’ lives easier, and it really shows. One thing to note is that the pram won’t fully fold with the full car seat adapters attached—the top part does need to be removed.

    Stylish and Practical

On top of all its practical features, the YOYO³ is just so stylish. It comes in a range of colours, so I could choose one that felt perfect for me, so we opted for the Air France Blue. The minimalist, modern design makes it feel more like a chic accessory than just another piece of baby gear, even my husband agrees. It’s always getting compliments when I’m out with it!

    Why I’d Recommend It

The Stokke® YOYO³ has been the ultimate solution for our little family. It’s compact enough for our small house, so easy to assemble and use, and packed with features that keep my baby safe and comfortable. For any other new mums who are looking for a stroller that can keep up with busy schedules and limited space, I’d wholeheartedly recommend the YOYO³. It’s been a game-changer for us!
